Why networking has never
been more important

Audiovisual networking has a lot riding on it. Engineers and integrators face a bewildering choice of networking protocols, but at the same time they are restricted in their choice of equipment – because of the difficulty in getting different manufacturers’ kit to talk to each other.

Meanwhile, the requirements of clients are becoming more sophisticated. AV networks must evolve: to become part of larger IT networks, or to interface with other building services. If the AV community does not rise to the challenge, there is a real danger that clients will take their business elsewhere.

It's against this background that AVNetworks 2010, a technology and business conference, is taking place in London on Wednesday 15 September 2010.

The year's most significant event for AV networking

Held at Earls Court Conference Centre alongside PLASA 2010, AVNetworks 2010 will be chaired by Roland Hemming, the highly respected AV industry consultant and commentator. The conference will take a multifaceted approach to the subject – with contributions from manufacturers, consultants, installers and rental companies – and will ask if they align, or if there are gaps.

AVNetworks 2010 is being produced jointly by Installation Europe and Pro Sound News Europe (published by United Business Media). Hemming is working closely with both brands to put together a compelling group of speakers and panels.

Audience
The conference is aimed at AV installers, sound engineers, technical officers, rental companies, executives and consultants plus anyone with an interest in the technology and the business of AV networking.

Why you must attend this event

•    Improve your understanding of audio networking: the different protocols available and their respective capabilities and limitations

•    Get to grips with AVB: what do these evolving standards offer, and what are their limitations?

•    Find out what end users really want: with a keynote session about preparing Cape Town’s Greenpoint Stadium for the FIFA World Cup

•    Discover how audio and video networking can fit within a larger IT network

•    Get the inside track from manufacturers: why did they choose their protocols, and how will these develop?

•    Tackle the integration of sound and video with other building services

•    Learn more about the options for the control of audio systems across networks and the basics of using video over IP

Says Roland Hemming: “2011 will be a pivotal year in the development of the next generation of truly integrated audio systems. We need to understand how other industries have solved the problems we still have and what our clients actually want us to deliver. This conference gives a perfect opportunity to learn, discuss and collaborate.”

AVNetworks 2010 is supported by PLASA and will take place on the final day of the four-day show. Anyone booking tickets to the AVNetworks 2010 conference will also be given free VIP entry to PLASA 2010, including free entry to the majority of other PLASA events, for all four days of the show.

Discounts are available for CEDIA, InfoComm and PLASA members.

InfoComm CTS and CTS-D holders can earn 6 RUs by attending AVNetworks 2010.
